About this design

Cake & Sparklers sets a two-tier cake with dripping pink icing and sprinkles onto its stand, then the two sparklers on top burst into fizzing light as confetti flutters down. It’s pure birthday-party energy.

The pastel colors and sparkler fizz make it playful without being babyish, so it works for teens, friends and milestone birthdays just as well as for children. It is also a fun way to say “this calls for cake” about any piece of good news.

The pink icing and pastel stand give it a sweet, bakery feel, and the sparklers add the wow. It is a great “sorry I can’t be there” card, because the cake arrives on screen even when you can’t bring one.

When to send it

Birthdays for friends, teens and kids
Milestones: 18th, 21st, 30th and beyond
Celebrating good news, from a new home to passing a driving test
Team birthdays when everyone wants to join in

Messages that suit this design

Light the sparklers, cut the cake — it’s your birthday! Have the sweetest day.
Eighteen! Officially an adult, unofficially still getting the biggest slice. Happy birthday!
This news definitely calls for cake. Congratulations — I’m so happy for you!
Happy birthday from all of us. Calories don’t count today.
Sorry I can’t be there with an actual cake. This one has sparklers, at least! Happy birthday.

Make it yours

For milestone birthdays, put the number in your first line so it’s the first thing they read. Keep the music box on, and if a group is sending the card, a playful line from each person makes it feel like a real party.
