How it works

Before the date, they see a sealed envelope with a wax seal and a live countdown in days, hours, minutes and seconds, and they can add a reminder to their calendar. When the moment arrives, the seal can be broken: it cracks, the envelope opens, and your letter is written out by hand, with your photo if you added one.

Time capsule letters are made for milestones: a child's 18th birthday, a wedding anniversary, graduation, a baby's first birthday, New Year's Day, the end of a deployment or a long trip, or a note to your future self a year from now.

Questions

Can they read the letter before the date?

Not on the page: until the date, they see the sealed envelope and the countdown. It's a gentle surprise lock kept by the page, not encryption, so don't put passwords or real secrets in it.

Which time zone does the date use?

You pick the date and time on your device, and it unlocks at that exact moment everywhere. The countdown shows them the time left in their own time zone.

How far ahead can I set the date?

Years ahead is fine. Links are kept for at least two years, so a date within two years is the safest choice.

Can I send it to myself?

Yes. Send the link to your own email or save it somewhere safe, and add the calendar reminder so you don't forget.

Is it free and private?

Yes. No account, no watermark. The letter is saved under a short private link that isn't listed anywhere, and deleted on request (info@novpix.com).
